Overview
EXCEDE 200 sterile suspension is a ready-to-use formulation that contains ceftiofur crystalline free acid. Ceftiofur crystalline free acid is a broad spectrum cephalosporin antibiotic active against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria including β-lactamase-producing strains. Like other cephalosporins, ceftiofur is bactericidal, in vitro, resulting from inhibition of cell wall synthesis. Each mL contains 200 mg ceftiofur equivalents (as ceftiofur crystalline free acid). Cattle (including lactating dairy cattle) For the treatment of Bovine Respiratory Disease (BRD) associated with Mannheimia haemolytica, Pasteurella multocida and Histophilus somni (Haemophilus somnus). For the treatment of bovine foot rot (interdigital necrobacillosis) associated with Fusobacterium necrophorum and Porphyromonas levii. Horses For the treatment of lower respiratory tract infections in horses caused by susceptible strains of Streptococcus equi ssp. zooepidemicus.
